This is the English translation of our German privacy notice. The German version on this site (/datenschutz) is the legally binding one.

2. What data we process
When you use the Garage app we process:
- Account data: email address, display name, preferred language.
- Vehicle data: make, model, year, license plate, mileage, equipment. License plates are personal data.
- Maintenance and repair history: descriptions, dates, costs, photos and receipts you attach.
- Maintenance intervals and reminders.
- Purchase data: subscription tier, product, start and end of entitlement. Payment itself is processed by Apple / Google.
- Technical data: device identifiers, anonymous session IDs, log files needed to operate the service.

4. Recipients and processors
We use the following processors under Art. 28 GDPR:
- Supabase, Inc. – hosting of database, auth and file storage in the EU region Frankfurt, Germany.
- RevenueCat, Inc. – subscription processing and verification (USA, on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses, Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).
- Apple Inc. and Google LLC – payment processing in the respective app store and push notification delivery.
5. Website hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on a virtual server we operate at IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). When you visit the site, the web server automatically processes technical data (IP address, date and time, requested page, user agent) to the extent necessary for delivery, stability and security of the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Log files are not merged with other data sources and are deleted after a short period.
Domain and email mailboxes (e.g. for support requests) are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich (Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany). The contents of emails you send us are stored and processed there.
Web fonts are served locally from our own server; no connection to third-party servers is established.
6. Cookies
This website uses a single technically necessary cookie (i18n_redirected) that stores your language preference (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR / § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). No tracking or marketing cookies are set; the usage analytics described in section 7 also works entirely without cookies. No consent banner is therefore required.
7. Usage analytics (Matomo)
On this website and in the Garage app we use the analytics software Matomo, self-hosted on our own server at IONOS SE in Germany (see section 5). Data never leaves our own infrastructure. It is configured in a privacy-friendly way:
- without cookies or client-side identifiers (cookieless mode),
- without linking to your user account (no user ID),
- with server-side IP anonymization.
On the website we record page views and anonymous interaction events (e.g. clicks on the app store buttons); in the app only anonymous usage events (e.g. "entry created") are collected – in both cases to improve our product (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The data cannot be traced back to you. Your browser's "Do Not Track" setting is respected.
8. Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as needed for the listed purposes. Delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account to remove all associated data.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21) under the GDPR. Use the contact details above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
10. Push notifications
If you opt into reminders, we process a push token from your device to deliver them. You can disable notifications anytime in your system or app settings.
11. Device permissions
- Photos / library: to attach receipts and vehicle photos.
- Camera: to take pictures of receipts directly.
- Notifications: for maintenance reminders.
You can revoke any of these permissions in your device settings.
12. Changes
We update this policy when features, processors or legal requirements change. The current version is always at https://garage-management.com/en/privacy.
